The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 这个适合放在《黑道家族》系列之前当做序，作为电影还是欠缺一点气势，雷利奥塔他演的那兄弟俩还不错，其它都一般般！

看到最后其实挺有意思的，三个假钞将众多的人物联系到了一起，让落魄的小说家重新找到了写作的灵感。
有点意思又不太够，感觉故事本身应该挺巧妙的，但拍出来却不够精彩
毫無驚喜平平無奇的劇作，勝在景色優美，演技尚有說服力。大自然本身的聲音足夠震撼，而少有的配樂(唱段)也能起到畫龍點睛的效果。娜奧美是怎能做到每到一個年齡段都能修煉到另一種美麗的？

沉浸式遇险体验+预防自杀干预导向，小成本的电影本身更像是一种价值观宣教片。
黑帮片的黄金时代一去不复还，最近只有爱尔兰人苟延残喘地再现了一点高光时刻。虽然打着黑道家族的前传名头，但全片的黑帮内核实在太无趣和平淡。男主看上了漂亮的继母从而击杀自大的生父，得到继母后又充满强烈的控制欲以至于让这个胸大无脑的花瓶吐露了出轨的事情；生意上和曾经抛弃的黑鬼小弟势不两立地争斗，结果最后居然被亲叔叔买凶杀人。这样的人设太让人无语，性格缺陷严重还没有太多的专业素养，居然让那个小男孩佩服得五体投地心心念地想跟着他混，不知道这样的设定如何能征服观众。那个后妈也不知道为什么要承认和黑鬼兄弟上床的事情，就这样白班白挂掉真是可惜。全片没有看到黑帮的情义道，也看不到男主的智慧和勇气。只有无聊的锅里斗。片中的服化道挺复古，风格比较还原，再加上继母性感美丽的小妖精模样，勉强拉回了一点看点。
因为情怀，打了三星，其实是失望的。但隔了这么多年，重刷老剧还是需要耐心的，当年第一次看的时候就被带入美剧坑，那些漫长的心理描述和家庭琐碎的纠结丝毫没有影响对黑帮争斗和残忍的戏份，满满的细节让人物充实又吸引，如此经典和喜爱，也就和很多其他剧一样并不期待什么前传。 好剧很难保持令你迷恋的水准，所以大多几季以上的都会烂尾，尤其是吃多看多了口味更挑剔的观众。
有些地方没有解释清楚，比如关于鸠的假钞。感觉这些年日本电影不太行了，尤其和韩国比起来。//2022.07.07
对意大利黑帮题材还是比较有好感的。但毕竟前有《教父》之类经典高不可攀，后期想有所突破的确很困难。
两星给娜酱的，这剧情我看得云里雾里，始终搞不明白想表达什么。
摄影、色调、服装、道具都不错，演员们肯定没少看黑道家族，哈哈哈哈，模仿得有点重了。
感觉故事有种“命运弄人”的诙谐感，但张力略显不足，虽则人物间有着千丝万缕的关系，但没有那种令人惊愕的感觉，有点失望，浪费了我喜欢的藤原龙也和土屋太凤
两颗星都给娜奥米的卖力演出。

真实故事改编。女主身材管理挺好，看不出五十多了。
