The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 阴谋与公正，强权与抗争，法庭上的激烈争锋，还好是正义走到了最终。故事跌宕起伏，节奏紧张紧凑，群像表演丰富，人物刻画成功。“与我的国家对我的藐视相比，我的藐视不值一提”艾比.霍夫曼的这句话太精彩了！

剪辑凌厉又伶俐，台词与场景之间的互文更是自带力量，共同构建起庭审、现场、回忆/讲述交错编织的叙事空间，历史影像在其中穿行无碍，是警铃，更是利刃，劈开时代的外衣剖心而来，历史何其相似，却又何其不同！
